As soon as I got to Mary's House, I could tell it was special, hence the ropes and mat leading up to the front door. The stones and construction can be dated back to the Apostolic Age. Now, it has minor additions such as devotional statues and gardens/plants.
The house itself is not too big, as many houses in those days weren't. Upon entering Mary's house, I walked into a single big room with an altar and a statue of the Virgin Mary displayed in the centre, as pictured below.
Then, to the right of the altar is a smaller room. This room is said to be the actual room where Mary slept. It is also believed that running water used to flow through the smaller room, similar to a canal, which lead to the present drinking fountain outside of her house. This water fountain is believed to have miraculous powers of healing or fertility.
